AVL Joins the IAMTS to Develop Automated Vehicle Testing Solutions

Austrian-based automotive powertrain research institute, AVL List GmbH , has joined the ranks of SAE International , TÜV SÜD , and China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. (CATARC) as a strategic member of the International Alliance for Mobility Testing & Standardization (IAMTS) Technical Leadership Committee. The alliance addresses physical and virtual testing related to automated vehicles, connected vehicles, dynamic wireless charging, and other smart mobility systems, services, and environments.
“We see great value in joining an initiative where US, Europe and China – represented by such important standardization partners as SAE, TÜV Süd and CATARC – commit to tackle such a complex issue as testing of automated vehicles and advanced mobility together with industry partners. It is an ambitious mission which AVL is keen to contribute to and we hope that other regions and many more automotive industry partners will join,” says Georg List, vice president of corporate strategy at AVL.
