Heavy-Haul Planetary Drive Axles

Marmon-Herrington’s (Louisville, KY) new 90,000 lb (40,825 kg) Sisu tandem axle set and new 136,000 lb (61,690 kg) Sisu tridem axle set are double reduction planetary drive axles designed for heavy-duty applications within the North American truck market. For approved applications, the tandem axle offers a maximum gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 400,000 lb (181,440 kg) and the tridem axle offers a maximum GCWR of 600,000 lb (272,155 kg). Sisu Axles has also increased maximum approved ratings for its industry standard 70,000 lb (31,750 kg) tandem axle set to 400,000 lb GCWR, and 600,000 lb GCWR for its 106,000 lb (48,080 kg) tridem axle set. Production has already begun and the product will be available to ship in the second quarter of 2017.
