Ford Moving Some Truck Assembly from Mexico to U.S.
Ford is investing $168 million to retool its Ohio Assembly Plant near Cleveland for production of its MY2016 F-650/F-750 medium-duty trucks. Mexico is home to production of the current generation of those models. The new-gen trucks will go on sale in spring 2015. Workers at the Ohio Assembly Plant, in Avon Lakes, currently build the E-Series lineup of vans and other commercial vehicles. E-Series cargo and passenger-van production will end later this year while E-Series cutaway vans and stripped chassis will continue to be built in Ohio through most of the decade.
