Type RA Angstor multilayered polymer capacitors for 125°C (257°F) operation from Cornell Dubilier are impregnated with a microcrystalline polymer sealant and exterior tape wrap to protect the capacitor element from moisture, allowing it to meet requirements for demanding applications in military and aerospace. Compact capacitors are constructed using stacked metallized polyester, and the sealant protector eliminates the need for an external case. The package style offers high energy density technology for switching power supplies, dc to dc converters, and other high ripple current applications. Available in capacitance values from 0.1 to 10.0 µF and in voltage ratings of 100, 250, 400, and 500 V dc, Type RA capacitors are terminated with radial leads to cover applications where high density capacitors are needed for board-level dc filtering.
