Compact High-Shock 6DOF Sensor

The 6DX PRO for gathering kinematic data for research and engineering validation was designed by DTS specifically for occupant dynamics and human injury assessment. DTS claims the 6DX PRO is the smallest, high-shock 6-degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) sensor available, making it possible to collect 6DOF data in locations that were not previously accessible; accurate 6DOF data from locations not visible to high-speed imaging means better understanding of kinematics. The three angular rate sensors (18,000 or 50,000°/sec) accurately deliver position data, while the three accelerometers (2000 or 20,000 g) are rated for high impact environments. Installation is easy with the 19 x 19 x 14.5 mm (0.75 x 0.75 x 0.57 in) enclosure that weighs 12 g (0.42 oz). Designed for biomechanics testing to improve safety in a range of applications from vehicles to airplane seats, the 6DX PRO also is sealed and IP67 rated, making it suitable for PMHS (post mortem human surrogate) testing. The sensor is delivered calibrated, it’s repairable if damaged, and it meets NHTSA, FAA, ISO 6487, and SAE J211 recommended practices.
