Delta Digital Video, a division of Delta Information Systems Inc., was selected by L3 Technologies to deliver multiple Model 6880R Multi-Channel HD / SD Video Encoders in support of the mission and communication-navigation systems upgrade for the Royal New Zealand Air Force's fleet of P-3 Orion patrol aircraft.

The P-3 Orion, built by Lockheed Martin, is a four-engine turboprop aircraft that supports both maritime and land operations. It is in use by numerous navies and air forces around the world, primarily for maritime patrol and surveillance, reconnaissance, anti-surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare. In service for more than 50 years, there are currently more than 400 aircraft operating worldwide, being flown by 21 entities in 17 different countries.
Delta Digital Video's Model 6880R HD/SD Video Encoder is a scalable unit supporting up to 8 SDI or composite inputs, compressing each channel and multiplexing them with metadata and other system information for real-time video transmission and recording applications. Designed for any airborne or ground-mobile application, and specifically military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, the 6880R is qualified to MIL-STD-810/461/704 and compliant with the full motion video (FMV) standards developed by the US Government's Motion Imagery Standards Board (MISB) and STANAG.
Delta Digital Video provides specialized video compression and scan conversion products for military, aerospace, homeland security, and other applications. Delta's products are manufactured in mission-qualified, rugged packages as well as standard commercial/industrial configurations and OEM modules. Recognizing that no standard product meets all customer requirements, Delta works with users to tailor their core technologies for a specific application, resulting in cost-effective solutions for program requirements.
L3 Technologies is a provider of global ISR, communications and networked systems, and electronic systems for military, homeland security and commercial aviation customers. L3 develops advanced defense technologies and commercial solutions in pilot training, aviation security, night vision and EO/IR, weapons, maritime systems and space.
