Measurement Software Update

PC-DMIS 2014.1 from Hexagon Metrology is a significant update of measurement software used for the collection, evaluation, management, and presentation of manufacturing data. The company’s new midterm software release introduces tools and technologies to help laser and optical measurement devices perform better than ever, claims Hexagon Metrology. PC-DMIS 2014.1 provides overall performance improvements and major enhancements for point cloud inspection and reverse engineering tasks. Laser scanning and optical measurement systems benefit the most from this release with new functionality to manipulate and manage point cloud data. A new mesh command allows laser scanner users to create a single mesh from any number of point clouds. New alignment and filtering tools refine and enhance the usability of laser scanning systems. Also, a new blade toolkit module for point clouds dramatically improves blade inspection efficiency, according to Hexagon Metrology.
