Polyurethane Seals

Hydratech Industries features a polyurethane sealing solution from Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies on its hydraulic piston accumulators. The Freudenberg Simko 300 seal ring offers improved operating life, form stability, and sealing characteristics over traditional polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE), according to the company. The Simko seal was tested at above-actual stress conditions of pressures greater than 200 bar (2900 psi) and temperatures between -104 to +140°F (-76 to +60°C). While most sealing systems work with a seal for oil and another for gas, the Simko 300 is a single seal made of polyurethane with a PTFE-like hardness, but with increased robustness and decreased surface damage during installation.
