Multi-Fuel Analyzer

To be displayed at the SAE 2014 World Congress April 8-10 in Detroit, the Miniscan IRXpert analyzer from AMETEK Petrolab Co. is a portable multi-fuel analyzer for gasoline, diesel, and biodiesel blends incorporating mid-IR and near-IR spectroscopy to achieve accuracy in fuel characterization. Designed for warranty issues and for quality control in the automotive industry, the Miniscan self-learning analyzer uses more than 12,000 data points from the infrared spectrum to determine the concentration of even a small sample volume of molecules and can yield more than 40 fuel properties. Compound analysis is performed to international standards, and an integrated temperature-controlled density meter directly determines fuel density. The configured analyzer includes touch screen, USB, and Ethernet interfaces for data transfer and printing. (Booth 411)
