USB Avionics Databus Interface
Ballard Technology (Everett, WA) has announced that its line of pocket-sized USB Avionics Databus Interfaces are now available with an optional orange case. The high-visibility flight test orange case allows the device to be clearly seen and identified as test equipment for removal from an aircraft prior to its return to service after maintenance and support operations. The standard case color is black.
These USB interfaces enable engineers and technicians to test, simulate, and analyze MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429 and ARINC 717 avionics databuses using any available PC. Units are available with up to 2 dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels, up to 16 ARINC 429 channels, or up to 4 ARINC 717 channels. All units have 8 avionics discrete I/O, 48-bit hardware time-tag, and IRIG synchronization/generation.
