13.6-L Engine

Designed to meet the future needs of global markets, the 13.6-L engine from John Deere Power Systems (Waterloo, IA) offers customers increased efficiency, installation flexibility and power in a more compact package. John Deere made it a goal to increase the power of the engine, but not the size, and, according to the company, it offers a significant reduction in size and weight compared to other engines in its power range. The 13.6-L engine features a maximum variable-speed power rating over 500 kW (684 hp) and employs the same proven technologies as other engines in the John Deere lineup: full-authority electronic controls, cooled exhaust-gas recirculation and a high-pressure common-rail fuel system. Single- and dual-turbocharger configurations offer improved packaging and greater application flexibility.
