Custom Wireless Measurement

TECAT has developed a system to measure torque on a flexplate accurately and in-situ. The solution is a custom wireless measurement system based on the firm’s WISER torque telemetry product, which is packaged along the perimeter of the flexplate. It is built to withstand the harsh environment and extreme temperatures found at the flexplate, is compact enough to fit in the tight space constraints, and can provide accurate torque data between the engine and transmission. The product enables engineers to determine the distribution of losses throughout a powertrain system. The company has conducted extensive testing on this measurement solution.
