Heavy-Duty Alternator
Mitsubishi Electric offers the 200-A Diamond Power (DP) A200 for heavy-duty trucks. With a high efficiency rating for 12-V heavy-duty alternators and providing increased fuel economy, the DP A200 weighs 21.8 lb (10 kg), which is 24% less than the closest competitor and improves installation and payload potential, the company claims. The unit itself provides 137 A of output at engine idle speed and features remote-sense and 5-wire technology. Designed to last more than 1 million mi, the DP A200 offers extreme heat tolerance and requires minimal engine horsepower for improved efficiency. Less drag on the engine reduces fuel consumption, and other features include advances in corrosion protection, vibration resistance, and heat tolerance as well as extended battery life. The PAD-mount, brushless alternator is a bolt-in replacement for existing units.
