Suzuki Solves CAE Data-Storage Challenge
Working with SCSK Corp. to address challenges of its CAE storage system, Suzuki Motor Corp. has deployed a DataDirect Networks (DDN) Storage Fusion Architecture (SFA) storage engine and GRIDScaler parallel file system. This system consolidates Suzuki’s storage into a new shared CAE system to support its production environment. As the core of the company’s product development, Suzuki’s CAE system accelerates the development of new vehicles and motorcycles. The new SFA-based, shared storage system provides consolidated storage to various CAE compute nodes from different vendors (used for crash analysis, structural analysis, and fluid dynamics) via a shared InfiniBand storage network. According to Suzuki, it provides more than five times the current maximum disk space and throughput requirements of the company’s CAE engineers.
