AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2019: A Real Thrill Ride
One of the more unique items on display at this year’s AUVSI XPONENTIAL show at Chicago’s McCormick Place was this prototype of a one-man quad-copter from ElectraFly for the very brave at heart.
Billed as a “single person hybrid electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) multicopter that will be used as a hover or personal flying device,” the ElectraFlyer’s four horizontal electric propellers don’t generate enough vertical thrust to lift the 34 kg vehicle and passenger, so it also has a small jet turbine engine that generates 27 kgs of thrust!
