Wind River(R) has expanded its Wind River Helix product portfolio to address the Internet of Things (IoT). Wind River has added application and data services in the cloud to its operating systems and IoT software platform via Wind River Edge Management System, its recently launched cloud-based technology stack that is an integral part of the Intel(R) IoT Platform. The Edge Management System agent has been integrated with VxWorks(R) real-time operating system (RTOS), Wind River Linux, and Wind River Intelligent Device Platform. Further expanding its operating system suite, Wind River has also announced the availability of Microkernel Profile for VxWorks, a tiny- footprint RTOS to facilitate the creation of IoT-ready differentiated devices.
