Video Compression Module

An enhanced version of the ICS-8580 high-definition video compression XMC module from GE Intelligent Platforms (Huntsville, AL) allows moving images to be captured, transmitted, and stored with low latency and minimal consumption of bandwidth or disk space. The module includes base-level support for Camera Link®.

The ICS-8580 captures video inputs, and archives or streams them over Ethernet, managing multiple streams and performing capture, manipulation, conversion, compression, storage, decompression, and video display. The device, which supports IPv6 and IPv4, features H.264 video compression/decompression (codec) technology.
