Single-Board Computer
VersaLogic Corp. (Eugene, OR) has introduced the Mamba, an ultra-fast single-board computer (SBC) on an industry-standard EBX form factor. Designed around an Intel® Core™2 Duo P8400 processor, the Mamba performs at 2.26 GHz with mid-range power consumption of 18.5 Watts. Mamba is suitable for OEM developers working on high-speed data or graphics-intensive applications in defense, robotics, and security systems markets. With an EBX footprint of 5.75 x 8”, Mamba is designed for applications that require extreme CPU and video processing. The Core 2 Duo CPU provides up to 2.26 GHz performance for very-high-performance systems. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® technology allows users to fine-tune the balance between power dissipation and performance. Basic onboard features include dual Gigabit Ethernet, two SO-DIMM sockets for up to 8 GB DDR3 RAM (4 GB per socket), six USB ports, four serial ports, two SATA ports, HD audio, eUSB interface for removable flash storage, and three general-purpose timers. The on-board PCI Express Mini Card socket supports plug-in Wi-Fi modems, GPS receivers, flash data storage, and other cards.
