Card Enclosures

Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions (Brockton, MA) has introduced the 700 Series Air Transport Rack (ATR) rugged enclosures for cooling in a range of harsh environment applications. The enclosures protect air-cooled cards, extended-temperature cards, and conductioncooled military-grade cards. They can be engineered with convection (714 Series), recirculating air (715 Series), conduction (716 Series), or air-over conduction (717 Series) cooling methods. The 716 series features configurable walls for military use.

The 714 features a modular aluminum frame with solid rivet technology; the 715 and 717 use dip-brazed construction for a sealed system that protects internal electronics. All enclosures are available in a variety of sizes and weights, and can be modified to any custom form factor. They are available in ARINC sizes from 1⁄4 ATR to 1-1⁄2 ATR. Options include modular power supply supporting AC or DC filtered inputs to military specs, adjustable card cages for front-panel or backplane I/O, and an avionics tray for fixed and isolated mounting for severe shock and vibration environments. The enclosures can support bus platforms in the VME (VITA) and CPCI (PICMG) architectures.
