X-Ray Imaging Camera
Rad-icon Imaging Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) offers the Shad-o-Box 1024 Hi-Res X-ray-sensitive imaging camera that uses the company's RadEye™ digital image sensor. The compact standalone camera features a 14-bit output and parallel digital interface for direct input to a digital frame grabber. Total power dissipation is less than 6W. The 49.2 × 49.2- mm sensing area consists of a 1024 × 1024-pixel CMOS photodiode array imager with pixels on 48- μm centers.
A scintillator screen placed in direct contact with the photodiode array converts incident x-rays or energetic particles to visible light, which in turn is detected by the photodiode imager. Two models cover the energy range from 10 kV to 160 kV.
