Drone Analyzer

Rohde & Schwarz launched their new EVSD1000 VHF/UHF nav/drone analyzer. The analyzer provides highly accurate and efficient drone inspection of terrestrial navigation and communications systems along with outstanding accuracy and the measurement repeatability customers need. The analyzer is a signal level and modulation analyzer for medium-sized drones. It is the only instrument that combines measurements of instrument landing systems (ILS), ground-based augmentation systems (GBAS) and VHF omnirange (VOR) ground stations in a single box. The mechanical and electrical design is optimized for drone based, real-time measurements of terrestrial navigation systems with up to 100 measurement data sets per second.

Mil-Spec GPS/GNSS Antennas

Fairview Microwave has introduced a new series of mil-spec GPS/GNSS antennas for use in a variety of mobile and small form factor applications. Fairview’s mil-spec GPS/GNSS antennas provide coverage from 1597 MHz to 1607 MHz, are available in active and passive versions, and are IP67-rated to address harsh environments. These MIL-STD-810G GPS/GNSS antennas include multi-standard GPS L1, GALLILEO E1 and GLONASS options and are designed for environmental performance according to the MIL-STD-810G standard. Additionally, these GPS/GNSS antennas feature nominal gain options of -3 dBic and +10 dBic, linear polarization for enhanced cross-polarized isolation, and SMA mounts.

H255 Drone

HevenDrones has launched its first hydrogen-powered drone for commercial use, the H2D55. With five times greater energy efficiency than traditional lithium battery-powered drones, the H2D55 is capable of flying for 100 minutes with a payload capacity of 7kg. The launch of HevenDrones’ hydrogen product line addresses the challenge of flight endurance and payload capacity associated with lithium battery-powered drones as well as the long term environmental impact linked to lithium mining. Without the need to frequently replace batteries, hydrogen fuel cells will also lower long term ownership costs for organizations implementing drone technology at scale.

3U OpenVPX Backplane

Pixus Technologies now offers new 3U OpenVPX backplane configurations in 2, 3, 6, 13, and 16 slot versions per the VITA 65 specification. There are also some versions aligned to the SOSA technical standard. The first in the series of new OpenVPX backplanes is a 2-slot design with a BKP3-DIS02-15.2.8 routing profile. The design supports speeds up to 40GbE and PCIe Gen3. The size is attractive for small form factor Air Transport Racks (ATRs), development systems, or other compact systems. Options with and without the RTM connectors and VITA 62 power supply slots installed are available.

FPGA Development Kit

Developers using FPGAs to meet satellite system payload and throughput requirements can speed designs by prototyping with space-qualified devices rather than commercial off-the-shelf silicon. Microchip Technology announces it has combined its flight-ready RT PolarFire® FPGA with the development kit and interfaces for evaluating design concepts based on actual in-flight electrical and mechanical characteristics. The RT PolarFire development kit supports various daughter boards and includes two fully populated high-pin count (HPC) FPGA mezzanine card connectors, DDR3 DIMM and RT Gigabit Ethernet connection, SPI flash memory, and SubMiniature Version A (SMA) connectors. Also included is radiation data and the Libero® software tool suite for programming the RT PolarFire FPGA.
