The IS-1200 LandHawk inertial-optical helmet tracking system for ground vehicles and aircrafts is available from InterSense (Bedford, MA). The system is a 6-degrees-of-freedom, wide-area, vision-inertial, self-tracking system for mobile, autonomous tracking in simulation and training, augmented and mixed reality, and robotic navigation applications. Interfaces to USB or RS-232 on Windows-based computers running InterSense's SensorFusion Server software are provided. The system is delivered with Windows configuration and testing software for printing passive tracking fiducials and setting up the tracking environment. The InertiaCam core consists of six MEMS inertial sensors with an integral smart camera that provides continuous position referencing from passive fiducial markers.
