Book Focuses on Use of CAE in Analysis of Automotive Composites

" CAE Design and Failure Analysis of Automotive Composites  ," a new book from SAE International, offers 12 technical papers covering three main areas of expertise, including static loading, dynamic and impact loading, and blast loading of automotive composites. The softbound bookfocuses on the latest use of CAE methods in design and failure analysis of composite materials and structures, beginning with a brief introduction to the design and failure analysis of composite materials, and then presenting some recent, innovative CAE design examples of composite structures by engineers from major CAE developers and automobile OEMs and suppliers. "CAE Design and Failure Analysis of Automotive Composites" is the second book in a series being developed by editors Dr. Charles Lu, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Kentucky and an Associate Editor of "SAE International Journal of Materials and Manufacturing," and Dr. Srikanth Pilla, Assistant Professor in the Department of Automotive Engineering at Clemson University, who holds an affiliated appointment in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
