DPF Cleaning Process

Delphi launches a comprehensive diesel particulate filter (DPF) program that includes a retrofit aftertreatment system and cleaning process. The retrofit system automatically regenerates the DPF by injecting fuel to artificially increase the temperature to the required level. Efficient system regeneration improves engine performance and fuel economy and enables continuous operation. The silicon-carbide filter core ensures long life and performance in harsh working environments, and the system’s combined active and passive regeneration process efficiently oxidizes carbon oxide and hydrocarbons without increasing nitrogen dioxide. The Delphi DPF cleaning process is a suite of tools and procedures developed to ensure DPFs receive a validated clean with ash deposits removed and without unnecessary vehicle downtime. The process does not affect catalytic coatings, filter mounting mats, or impact durability.
