Harsh, wet and dusty environments pose serious reliability issues for data collection. The SLICE IP68 data acquisition system is designed to measure physical signals in challenging test environments. With an ultra-small footprint of only 60 mm x 60 mm, the system can be embedded in most test articles with size and mass constraints. Its compact size means that it can be placed near the point of interest, eliminating the need for long cable runs, waterproof enclosures, or slip rings.
The rugged enclosure features special sealed layers and IP68-rated connectors, and meets MIL-STD-810G for temperature, altitude, shock and vibration. This durability allows testing in non-pressurized environments with inclement weather or with quick altitude changes that result in condensation on the instrumentation.
SLICE features onboard signal conditioning and supports a variety of external sensors including bridge and IEPE transducers for gathering repeatable measurements like acceleration, displacement, strain, pressure, temperature, voltage and more. Data direct-writes to 16 GB of internal flash memory.
The unit is totally self-contained with the microprocessor, flash memory, control circuits and a sensor interface complete with excitation, variable gain and 16-bit ADCs. The modular system is configurable based on required features and channel count, including variable sampling rates up to 500k sps/channel. The 3-channel sensor input layers stack up to 24 channels, which can be daisy-chained for higher channel counts.
