Ballard’s Partners with Solaris Bus & Coach on Hydrogen Fuel Cell Buses
Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. – a leading European bus manufacturer headquartered in Bolechowo, Poland – ordered 12 FCmove-HD hydrogen fuel cells from Ballard Power Systems Inc. for buses to be deployed as part of the Joint Initiative For Hydrogen Vehicles Across Europe, or “JIVE.”
Solaris’ Urbino 12 hydrogen model fuel cell electric bus (FCEB) can travel 350 kilometers (217 miles) on a single hydrogen refueling. The vehicle, unveiled by Solaris at UITP ’s 2019 Global Public Transport Summit , held in June in Stockholm, Sweden, incorporates an axle with two electric motors and is equipped with a climate control system utilizing heat generated by the fuel cell module.
