Laser Marker Series

The MX-Z series of laser markers from Omron (Hoffman Estates, IL) provide high quality, permanent identification with what the company claims is superior flexibility in terms of marking and connectivity with the ability to integrate easily to other systems or controls. Features include color marking on stainless steel, 2µm resolution with the ability to mark characters as small as 0.1 mm (100 µm), and the ability to import and laser mark from DXF or JPG, BMP, or PNG images. Omron’s portfolio includes vision attachments that enable a single vision system to locate product coordinates as well as inspect markings, removing the need for secondary vision and indexing. According to the company, this removes the need for a dedicated PLC while significantly reducing overhead, processing steps and machine cycle time.
