Filler Metals

Hobart Brothers Co. plans to showcase at ConExpo 2014 the newest filler metals for the construction, pipe, and heavy-equipment manufacturing markets; multiple hardfacing wires and stick electrodes; and also host live welding demonstrations. The Hobart Element family of gas-shielded, flux-cored wires feature the lowest manganese levels of any similarly classified filler metal in the marketplace, the company claims, helping companies to address compliance with environmental regulations. They also provide consistent performance to ensure welding operators maintain high levels of quality and productivity. Hobart MEGAFIL seamless gas-shielded, flux-cored and metal-cored wires resist moisture pickup and reduce the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking. Featuring hydrogen content under 4 mL per 100 g of weldment and robust mechanical properties, the MEGAFIL products also have a uniform shape to ensure smooth wire feeding and can withstand extreme environments.
