Thermal Cyclers
Nextreme Thermal Solutions (Durham, NC) has released a reference design of a compact PCR thermal cycler for field-level DNA amplification. The thin-film eTEC thermoelectric modules feature thermal cyclers that enable shorter throughput times and sample sizes. The Nextreme thermal cycler provides small, single-well systems, with rapid, programmable control. The technology produces up to a 25°C per second temperature ramp in a 50μL sample. Much faster ramp rates are possible from samples as small as 5μL.
