Electric Field Probe
The FL740 electric field probe from AR (Souderton, PA) uses an internal microprocessor to offer linearization, control, and communication functions. The FL7040 communicates through glass fiber optic cables, up to 100 meters long, to the FI7000 interface. X, Y, Z, and isotropic readings can be returned through an FI7000 in 20 msec.
The tool’s temperature compensation and noise reduction capabilities allow measurements down to 2 V/m without zero adjustment. When rotated about its magic angle mount, the probe provides typical isotropic response of ±1.5dB to 40 GHz. The laser-powered device, whose microprocessor-based linearization technology provides a 54 dB dynamic range, can also continuously operate without recharging or battery replacement.
