Hermetically Sealed Circuit Boards
Douglas Electrical Components (Randolph, NJ) hermetically seals circuit boards, including flex, rigid, and hybrid circuits for high-volume applications with space or weight constraints such as military and defense engineering, laser equipment, and space simulation. The method also can be used in semiconductor manufacturing and systems using magnetic bearings. By sealing directly to the circuit, as opposed to each wire, the technology can reduce the size of the housing for the same conductor count, and electrical connection points can be eliminated. The technology seals a variety of circuit combinations such as flat flex cable.
