Greenland Technologies Holding Corporation has announced the launch of HEVI Equipment, a new brand of industrial machinery. The HEVI Equipment moniker is a rebranding of Greenland’s Machinery division, which produces electric front loaders, excavators and other off-highway equipment.

“This is another important step in our company’s evolution,” said Raymond Wang, CEO of Greenland. “We reached a critical juncture having launched our initial electric industrial equipment models. With the rebranding of our Greenland Machinery division as our HEVI Equipment division, we believe we will gain a further advantage in the market.” The company also announced that it has selected a site in Baltimore County, Maryland for the next phase of its U.S. expansion.

HEVI will soon establish an approximately 54,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in White Marsh, Maryland. The facility is expected to open in July 2022 and is reportedly central to the company’s strategy of supporting the increased customer demand for its expanding line of electrical industrial vehicles. “Customers are as excited as we are about our product roadmap, commitment to investing in innovation and growing momentum,” said Wang. “Our sole focus on the clean business gives us another significant advantage.”

All of HEVI’s machines will reportedly utilize the Combined Charging System 1 (CCS1) charging connector. The CCS1 connector functions by connecting two DC contacts to existing charge connectors and is a modification of the SAE J1772 connector. “We chose CCS1 due to the increasing popularity of J1772 in the United States,” said Stanley Wang, HEVI’s VP of Special Projects. “Because CCS1 combines the original AC plug with a DC power option, our equipment can charge much faster than traditional chargers.”

HEVI states that it soon will offer a full range of lithium-ion powered equipment. Its machines will be suited for a range of roles across multiple industrial sectors, including construction, property maintenance, waste-management and agriculture. The initial product range will consist of a series of front-wheeled loaders and excavators, with plans to offer additional models in the near future. The company claims that its machines will be capable of fulfilling a 9-hour fully operational work shift from a single charge and that they can be fully recharged in as little as two hours.

“We’re proud to be the first company to bring an entire range of all-electric heavy equipment to the U.S. market and make them available for our customers to use and operate right now,” said Raymond Wang. “We are drawing on our company’s highly successful history and leveraging our expertise in the industrial market to accelerate growth in the rapidly evolving industrial electric vehicle market.”
