Hybrid Energy Efficient Environmental Control Unit (ECU)

Historically, military ECUs prioritized cooling capacity, size, and weight, limiting electronic components like VFDs due to reliability and EMI/EMC concerns. Constant run compressors were used to prevent generator overloads. These constraints led to inefficient designs and increased fuel usage. ACT's new Tekgard® ECU addresses these issues with digital scroll compressors, low-pressure-drop coils, and an air-side economizer to improve energy efficiency.
