As the COO of hofer powertrain, Thomas Hackl leads the engineering departments, including electric powertrains, batteries, transmission systems, and VCUs, overlooking all innovation processes and strategies for the organization. Over the last 20 years, he held managerial positions at Magna and AVL. Today, he brings immense expertise to the automotive engineering space and is a technical program committee member for the International VDI Congress "Dritev" automobile congress in Germany and a lecturer in drive train controls at the University of Applied Sciences in Austria.

Matthew Memmer, Director of Engineering and Program Management, TREMEC

In his role as Director of Engineering and Program Management at TREMEC, Matthew Memmer is responsible for all global engineering and program management activities. He joined TREMEC in 2016 as the Program Director for Dual Clutch Transmissions. Prior to TREMEC, Matthew was spent 10 years at Eaton Corporation in positions including sales, product strategy, and engineering leadership within the company’s Fuel Emissions business and was the Program Manager for the Eaton Procision Dual Clutch Transmission. He also previously worked for Visteon and Siemens VDO Automotive. Matthew began his career in 1998 with Cummins Inc., holding positions in quality and manufacturing operations for diesel fuel pumps and injectors. Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan as well as a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
