Growing charging network capabilities have fomented electric vehicles (EV) acceptance. The need for safe, interoperable, and liability-reduced charging systems impacts not only the charging station, but also the charging system’s components and their effects on the EV’s systems. The IEC System of Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) Certification Body (CB) Scheme presents an opportunity to have an accredited laboratory test and verify to safety standards key affected automotive components and systems. Some certification schemes also go further—with routine audit testing of the product and factory surveillance—to provide assurance that end products and their components continue to meet high standards.
This 60-minute Webinar offers a briefing on EV charging system product testing, including an explanation of the benefits of the IECEE CB Scheme for key EV components and systems, the application and certification process, the value of EV product and system certification.
Topics includes:
- Third-party verification and its role in self-declaration environments
- The reach of the CB Scheme
- The application and process certification process, including a look at type testing, initial and on-going surveillance, and final outputs and certification
- An overview of quality marking for EV charging systems
- How labelling and point of sale marks help throughout the product-purchasing tiers
- Using product certification to support product acceptance
A Q&A session will follow the technical presentation.
Speaker:
