Rolls-Royce Optimizes Maintenance, Service, Product Development with IFS Maintenix, Real-Time Data
Rolls-Royce officials harness IFS tool and data analytics capability to unlock insights on aircraft engines
Rolls-Royce officials in London are optimizing maintenance, service, and product development using data gleaned from its Trent aircraft engines in service with airlines, with the help of global enterprise applications company IFS in Linkoping, Sweden. The power and propulsion technology company employs IFS Maintenix to exchange data with airlines operating its Trent 1000, Trent XWB, and Trent 7000 engines.
Rolls-Royce officials seek to maximize the safety, efficiency, and insights gained on each trip as the company’s engines help transport thousands of air passengers and tons of cargo daily. Rolls-Royce automatically receives timely and accurate aviation analytics information based on field data from IFS Maintenix, which also pushes maintenance program changes from Rolls-Royce to the airline operator automatically.
“Ease of data sharing is a key component in the Rolls-Royce IntelligentEngine vision, which sees a future in which our aero engines are increasingly connected, contextually aware, and even comprehending,” explains Richard Goodhead, Rolls-Royce senior vice president of marketing, civil aerospace.
