Laser
RPMC (O’Fallon,MO) has introduced the Tactical Illuminator Designator (TID) laser. The initial configuration is a 50-mJ, 1064-nm/20-mJ, 1.57-um laser with ~3 ns pulses at up to 100 Hz. A higher energy 150 mJ version with longer pulses for designation will be available. The laser is 7.3 × 7.3 × 4" and includes all electronics. The laser head is approximately 30 cubic inches of this volume, with the remainder being electronics. Waste heat is conducted to the base. The user maintains the temperature of the interface within a wide temperature zone.
