The Federal Aviation Administration estimates that the combined commercial and recreational unmanned aircraft system (UAS) fleet will surpass the two-million mark in 2024. While UAS have a variety of innovative commercial use cases, the proliferation of the UAS fleet can also pose safety and security risks to critical infrastructure, public gatherings and other areas that can be impacted by bad actors. Four federal agencies — the Departments of Defense, Energy, Justice, and Homeland Security — have been authorized to deploy counter-UAS technologies in certain circumstances to address malicious UAS operations.
This 60-minute webinar from the editors of Aerospace & Defense Technology will feature presentations from developers providing technologies that can be deployed in civilian airspace to counter UAS risks.
Topics include:
- Traditional Legacy C-UAV technology challenges and Next Generation C-UAS Approaches and Capabilities for the Most Challenging and Sensitive Environments
- Counter-drone technology and its impact on C-UAS outcomes during each stage of the rogue drone incident lifecycle
- Optimized operational deployments and configurations for varied use cases, scenarios, and sectors, including the need for extreme on the go mobility and flexibility
- Key issues and challenges in existing C-UAS systems for detection, tracking, and classification of drones at long range
- Coherent, ultra long-range LiDAR’s value in a multi-layer system
- Performance examples and how such systems can be scaled to meet future challenges
An audience Q&A session will follow the technical presentations.
