ASV Rolls out a Pair of New Loaders
ASV adds the VT-75 and RY-65 to its family of compact loaders.
ASV has introduced a pair of track loaders, the VT-75 and RT-65. Both models feature a Yanmar Tier 4 Final rated diesel engine. The VT-75 is equipped with a 74.3-horsepower (55.4 kW) engine, while the RT-65 is fitted with a 67.1 (50 kW) unit.
“The VT-75 truly allows our ASV customers to do more,” said Peter Ovrebo, product management director Yanmar North America. “It fits right into the heart of the construction market where operators can make the best use of it.” Ovrebo also stated “The RT-65 is redesigned from top to bottom, making it an entirely new model that promises to allow operators an easier and more productive time on the jobsite in virtually every way.”
Both the VT-75 and RT-65 ride on ASV’s Posi-Track rubber undercarriage which is comprised of two independent torsion axles. ASV claims this suspension contributes to a ground pressure of 4.5 psi or less and a top speed of 9.1 mph (14.6 kph) as well as a foot (304 mm) of ground clearance on the VT-75.
Serviceability features of both machines include a swing-out radiator and a top hood/side doors that provide complete access to the engine compartment including filter service points.
Smooth operator
The VT-75 weighs in at 8,310 lb. (3,769 kg) and offers a 10.5 ft. (3.2 meter) lift height with a 2,300 lb. (1,043 kg) operating capacity and a 6,571 lb. (2,980) max tipping load. These specs reportedly make the VT-75 capable of tasks such as loading over the side of high dump trucks.
The VT-75’s optional work-tool positioner allows access to a preset attachment angle via a button, enabling operators to set it for repetitive applications. An optional return-to-position feature allows a preset for the height of the loader arms. Operators can use the features separately or together. ASV also states that optional self-leveling automatically levels the load while raising and lowering the arms.
The VT-75 is offered with optional speed and movement-related features, such as auto two-speed technology which according to ASV provides a seamless transition between low- and high-speed modes. Speed-sensitive ride control is also available to improve material retention at higher speeds but switches off automatically when conducting slower tasks.
ASV states that the VT-75s hydraulic and cooling systems allow the machine to operate in temperatures from minus -40-118 Fahrenheit (-40-48 Celsius). The VT-75 also comes standard with a roof escape hatch, which ASV claims is one of the first to be included on a compact track loader.
Working smarter and harder
The RT-65 is ASV’s latest radial-lift machine with new hydraulics, engine, controls, wiring, pumps, hoses, frame and more. The RT-65 weighs in at 7,385 lbs (3,350 kg) and can be fitted with an optional 26.7 gpm high flow hydraulic system. The RT-65’s direct drive pumps reportedly transfer more flow and pressure directly to the attachment, resulting in a 2,000 lb. (907 kg) operating capacity and 5,714 lb. (2,591 kg) tipping load.
The new RT-65 includes electronic controls, which eliminate switches and according to ASV provides a more ergonomic working space. This is complemented by a fully adjustable suspended seat. Like the VT-75, the RT-65 is equipped with a roof escape hatch.
The RT-65 (and VT-75) can be fitted with Yanmar’s SmartAssist telematics with features such as error detection and notification to real-time operational status updates. The system also offers integrated theft protection, which allows users to set a range from a specific location and trigger an alert if the machine moves outside of that range.
