Mihai Dorobantu, Ph.D., Director – Technology Planning and Government Affairs, Eaton Vehicle Group

Dr. Mihai Dorobantu is the Director of Technology Planning and Government Affairs at Eaton Vehicle Group. There he is responsible for setting the technology strategy and technology program portfolio as well as leading the advanced technology team. Mihai directs relationships with government regulatory and funding agencies in the areas of powertrain electrification, hydrogen, and aggressive CO2 and NOx emissions reduction. Previously, he led the systems and controls groups at Eaton’s Innovation Center, and before that, at the United Technology Research Center, and started his career developing simulation tools for Comsol and MathWorks. Mihai holds a Ph.D. from Stockholm University and Royal Institute of Technology. Currently, he serves on technology advisory boards focused on transportation at the National Renewable Energy Lab, National Transportation Research Center at Oak Ridge National Lab, the North American Council for Freight Efficiency, and the 21st Century Truck Partnership.

Grant Van Tine, Product Manager – Electric Vehicles, John Deere

As Product Manager, Electric Vehicles, Grant Van Tine is responsible for leading Deere's marketing and product management of battery electric construction equipment projects. Grant has spent more than 17 years working in the construction equipment industry. He joined Deere in 2008 and has had multiple roles in training, customer support, and marketing. Grant holds a bachelor’s degree in technical systems management from the University of Illinois.
