Revolutionizing Electric Mobility: Advancements in Physics Simulations and CAE Methods

SPONSORED BY:

The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) demands a paradigm shift, challenging manufacturers to surpass the performance of traditional combustion engine vehicles. Crafting electric vehicles requires unique considerations, accommodating ePowertrains and hefty battery packs. Decisions on battery pack placement, chassis design, and suspension dynamics directly influence handling, safety, and comfort. Additionally, addressing the challenges posed by higher frequency vibrations are vital for maximizing passenger comfort.

In the aerospace sector, the rise of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles introduces a new frontier. Simultaneously, the unique challenges of eVTOL design — including advanced aerodynamics, propulsion, and structural dynamics — necessitate groundbreaking physics simulations for optimal performance.

In response to these challenges, virtual prototypes utilizing computer-aided engineering (CAE) and physics-based simulations have emerged as indispensable tools, streamlining design iterations and accelerating time to market. While past limitations in accuracy and model complexity existed, recent breakthroughs in multiphysics have removed significant barriers.

Join us for this 60-minute Webinar to explore how enhancements in physics-based simulations can bolster productivity and contribute to achieving sustainability goals.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Create leaner models and analysis workflows for eNVH
  • Manage large complex models easier with new enhancements
  • Incorporate more physics to more closely approach reality and reach zero or reduced prototypes

An audience Q&A session will follow the technical presentations.

Speakers:

Alexis Talbot, Global Head of Acoustic Business Development, Hexagon

Alexis Talbot is an NVH expert, who currently serves as the Global Head of Acoustic Business Development at Hexagon. He is part of the Multiphysics Product Group leadership team and is responsible for global business enablement for this team at Hexagon. Alexis has been supporting companies in the automotive industry for 10 years, helping them modernize their NVH simulation processes to meet the challenges linked to electrification. He has deep knowledge of acoustic, vibro-acoustic, and aero-acoustic simulations and their applications to exterior and interior noise and vibration applications such as powertrain, body, tires, and acoustic treatments. As a practicing engineer, Alexis has contributed to numerous technical papers and is part of the SAE NVH conference organization committee.
