Compact Controller 100

Available and ready to ship, WAGO’s (Germantown, WI) Compact Controller 100 remains a small-scale PLC with a wide variety of built-in I/O for use in smaller applications. While the PLC can still interface with industrial devices using protocols such as MODBUS TCP/UDP, EtherNet/IP or EtherCAT using the two on board EtherNet ports; it now includes communication protocols such as BACnet, OPC/UA and DNP3 for the utility sector. By programming the Compact Controller 100 using Codesys 3.5, it allows users to code in one or more of the IEC 61131-3 compatible languages as well as utilize the controller’s built-in Web Server to develop HTML 5 visualizations.

Copper Bandpass Filters for Quantum Computing

RLC Electronics, Inc. (Mt. Kisco, NY) has successfully built and delivered gold plated OFHC copper bandpass filters for quantum computing applications (Copper has the best electrical conductivity of any metal, except Silver). This filter is a C-band filter centered at 5350 MHz. Despite the 11-sections response, insertion loss at the band edges is 0.27dB and 0.35dB. The filter achieves >100dB attenuation carrying up to 15 GHz (min) spurious free and handles 50W cW.

Leveraging the 11th Gen Intel ® Core i3/i5/i7 processors for industrial, IoT and embedded systems, this module offers up to four cores of high-performance processing in a low-power platform. Fabless mmWave semiconductor startup mmTron Inc. (Redwood City, CA) announced a family of MMICs for driving high-speed analog-to-digital (A/D) converters. The TMC161 family converts a single-ended RF input to a differential output to drive A/D converters for direct-sampling applications from L/S/C- into Ku- and Ka-Band. The TMC161 provides low noise, high linearity (low IMD2 and IMD3 distortion) amplification and anti-alias filtering.

GNSS Receiver

The new STMicroelectronics (Geneva, Switzerland) Teseo-LIV4F GNSS module leverages ST’s Teseo IV single-die receiver technology, including L1 and L5 frequency-band support, to provide positioning accuracy better than one meter in embedded geolocation systems. With an ultra-compact form factor and low power consumption, Teseo-LIV4F also extends multi-constellation compatibility to include navigation with the Indian constellation (NavIC or IRNSS, the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System).
