Integrated and Open Development Platform (IODP)

AVL will feature its Integrated and Open Development Platform (IODP) at the SAE 2014 World Congress April 8-10 in Detroit. The IODP is a toolchain that consists of a combination of engineering expertise and the wide array of testing instrumentation, software tools, and equipment that AVL offers to customers who are in need of powertrain testing and development solutions. The IODP can be divided into five areas of application-driven competencies that apply to all powertrain development processes: internal-combustion engine, transmission, battery, control strategy, and electric motor. Examples of the end product of these competencies to be exhibited in AVL's SAE Congress booth demonstrate expertise and technical precision that its IODP offers. Among these examples are the latest in 48-V battery development and testing, electric axle technology, control strategy processes, dual-clutch transmission for commercial vehicles, and the latest in internal-combustion engine technology for passenger vehicles.
