Electrify America Wants an Emoji for Electric Vehicles
When it comes down ordinary, everyday life – especially for those not in the mobility industry – emojis might be more of a household term than electric vehicles (EVs). With about 230 new emoji characters added to major communication platforms in 2019, Electrify America wants to make sure EVs and the company’s ultra-fast charging stations are represented in the modern visual vernacular.
That has led Electrify America to formally submit a proposal to the Unicode Consortium, the governing body for emoji creation, to introduce the first-ever "Electric Vehicle With Charger" emoji for smartphone keyboards.
