Electronic Flight Bag Users Forum Focuses on Regulatory, AID, Security, Connectivity, Other Pressing Issues

More than 300 aerospace professionals are expected at SAE International’s Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Users Forum , hosted by Inmarsat at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel in London November 13 through 15, 2018. Registration is now open for the world's largest conference dedicated to EFBs which boasts a supplier exhibition area and will focus on the latest regulatory developments, aircraft interface devices (AIDs), security and connectivity progress, advances in mobile applications, and airline operator experiences.

The presenters at the first EFB users conference in 2010, when many airlines had no EFB program , set a high bar for providing current, relevant, and actionable information. At the latest forum in London, attendees can expect candid answers direct from, and the opportunity to chat during breaks with, authorities on each of these subjects, as well as the opportunity to hear from various airline professionals.

The forum’s supplier exhibition will include airframers, hardware and software suppliers, system integrators, and service providers who will showcase the latest products and services. The main exposition will be open on Tuesday, November 13 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time, and will include a standup buffet featuring local favorites and drinks from 2 pm to 4 pm. The supplemental expo will be open during coffee breaks and lunch on Wednesday, November 14.

This activity provides a unified forum for airlines, system integrators, hardware and software providers, regulators, and other interested parties to present and discuss topics of interest to the EFB user community. This includes but is not limited to EFB subjects such as:

Regulatory changes
Communication interfaces (including media, provider, connectivity)
Data input devices, terminals, displays, and interactive devices
Hardware and software development
Electrical interfaces and power supply
Operational issues

The EFB Users Forum attracts airlines, suppliers, and regulators to discuss operational and technical trends. Speakers are invited to share their experiences and exchange information to identify issues and their potential solutions. This activity provides benefits to the aviation community by:
