Multidisciplinary Design Exploration
CD-adapco fills the design testing void with multidisciplinary design exploration (MDX), to be showcased at the SAE 2014 World Congress April 8-10 in Detroit. MDX is a methodology for automatically testing designs from early in the concept stage against all physics that might influence performance. Engineering simulation software allows design teams to determine how a product will perform under actual conditions during operational life without over-simplification. Multiple simulation software tools can work together in concert to address a specific part of the problem, allowing engineers to simulate the entire system at once. In addition, multipurpose tools automatically improve design by reducing associated time and expenses while preventing single-focused, over-engineered products. (Booth 703)
