NASA Experiments Fly on Virgin Galactic Spacecraft

NASA Johnson’s Microgravity Multi-Phase Flow Experiment for Suborbital Testing (MFEST) experiment tested a two-phase life-support system that also could be used in power systems and propellant transfer.

Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo successfully flew to suborbital space last month with four NASA-supported technology payloads onboard. NASA’s Flight Opportunities Program purchased flight services, the accommodation, and ride from Virgin Galactic for the payloads. During the flight, the payloads collected valuable data needed to mature the technologies for use on future missions.
